Create an Owl Fact File/ Report on a type of owl and present information in Owl shaped booklet. Research and Report task, two ability writing frames included (could be adapted further). Based on teaching with The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark, Owl Babies and nocturnal animals. Suitable for primary level, will be completing this with a Primary 3 class, but could easily be used for upper primary levels.

Plans included; Interdisciplinary plan connected to the Experiences and Outcomes, Topic Lesson Plans, Novel Reading plans and Writing Lesson plans. Used with a primary 3 class.

Used with Primary 3 to launch the “Incredible Inventors” topic. Designed to introduce key inventors in a fun and active way Includes inventors: Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, The Wright Brothers, Marie Curie, James Watt, Galileo Galilei, and Ruth Graves Wakefield Pupils hunt for hidden fact cards and match them to the correct inventor Encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and discussion Answers on the pupil recording sheet are intentionally mixed up to promote careful reading Resource pack includes: Fact cards to be hidden around the learning space Pupil sheet to record answers Teacher answer key for easy checking (some answers are written in wrong column for this sorry)
